About Us
We are here to make a difference to Veterans in our community and to join in camaraderie with fellow Marines. The Marine Corps League was established by the authority of the 57th Congress of the United States.
Mission Statement
Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps. This is accomplished by banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service; voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans, and by perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps through fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
Community Involvement
Some of the ways we're involved in our local community and abroad include:
- Our Wounded Heroes program reaches out to Veterans and service men and women in our local VA hospitals to provide support, encouragement and needs not met by the VA.
- Our Detachment supports collecting toys and events for the local Toys for Tots effort.
- We honor the traditions of the Marine Corps by hosting an annual Marine Corps Birthday Dinner.
- We are the charter organization for Cub Scout Pack 1155.
- We provide Color & Honor guards for funerals, civic events and special events.
- We support our local active duty Marines and Marine reservists.
- We send care boxes to our Armed Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
- We support local Veterans in need.
- We support the families and widows of Marines and Veterans.
- We assist Veterans in making contact with County and VA services for Veterans.
- We support the Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building and other local memorials.
- Community support by providing gate security for the Brentwood Cornfest.
- Scholarships.
